CellularBASIC: Interpreter for the BASIC programming language, designed especially to run as stand-alone application on Cellular phones.

On-phone Open-Source BASIC Interpreter for Java-Enabled Handhelds, Smartphones, Mobile phones, Cellular Phones, PDA's. The project intended platform is J2ME for Cell Phones, PDA's, and Handhelds.

  • CellularBASIC is a dialect of QBASIC 1.1, along with some special features

  • Supports more than 90 keywords

  • IEEE 64-floating point arithmetic, trigonometric, random

  • String processing

  • Boolean predicates

  • Screen I/O

  • File I/O **NEW**

  • Send SMS from program **NEW**

  • Network Programming - Socket I/O **NEW**

  • Graphics, line, point, RGB color

  • Edit-Save-Load facilities

Target Devices

Handhelds, Mobile phones, Cellular Phones, Smartphones, Palm, PDA etc.. and any other J2ME-enabled Java-Enabled devices.

J2ME Profile

Currently the interpreter is compatible only with CLDC 1.1/MIDP 2.0, however, another general port is being rewritten for CLDC 1.0/MIDP 1.0. So, keep with us and wait for updates!
